Weiss Lake, at the center of Cherokee County

The Coosa River was dammed back in the 1960s to create Weiss Lake, a 30,000-acre reservoir stretching across the middle of Cherokee County. Ground that backs up to the water behaves differently than ground set further inland.

Highway 411 is the county's main route, running east to west just south of the lake. It's the road we use most, reaching jobs from one side of the county to the other.

Whether a lot sits close to the shoreline or well back from it changes how we plan a pour. Let us know how close the site sits to the water before we plan the base.

Does a lot near Weiss Lake need something different?

It can. Close to the water, drainage, grading and how high the slab sits above the ground matter more than they do further back. A concrete patio or a run of stamped concrete behind one lakeside house can sit on very different ground than one two coves over.

We pour those, along with slabs and flatwork for a walkway, steps or a smaller pad, on lakeside and inland lots alike. Set back from the water, we pour concrete driveways, home foundations for a new house, and garage and shop foundations for a detached building, the same range of work a lot inland calls for. A house near the shoreline and one out on a farm road get the same care either way: the forms go up, the base gets prepped, and the concrete gets finished to the same standard.

Metal building foundations get sized to a carport or steel building's own plans, and concrete footings sized to a barn, shed or smaller addition cover what's left.

The towns we cover in Cherokee County

Centre is the county seat, and we pour driveways, patios and foundations in Cedar Bluff, Gaylesville and Leesburg and the county around them too.

Each one sits roughly 50 minutes to an hour from our shop in Cedartown, with Weiss Lake at the middle of all four. A job might land on the shoreline, or out on a farm road between towns.

Questions about concrete work in Cherokee County

Which towns in Cherokee County do you cover?

Centre, Cedar Bluff, Gaylesville and Leesburg, along with the unincorporated land around Weiss Lake. We pour driveways, patios and foundations in all of them.

Does Weiss Lake affect concrete work in Cherokee County?

It can. A lot close to the shoreline often needs more attention to drainage and grading than one set further back, so it helps to mention how close your site sits to the water.
